Hi all for those of you that don't know me , My name is Ash and I have two corns and two brazilian rainbow boa's and about 2 hours ago put a deposit down on a royal .

Well today was great went to the reptile shop to put a deposit down on a Royal Python and saw 4 normal het pied's.

Going next week to collect after it has had 1 more feed , Its a late CB10 and it's so tiny can't wait.

Thanks Danny , It's a het pied as they only had 4 het pied as all the other morph'ed royals was sold out I wen't there thinking to come back out with a Lesser or Pastel but oh well a het pied is just as nice

I'm guessing you are planning on breeding later then if you went for a het pied?

Nope was not thinking of a het pied for breeding at all as I wanted a Lesser and few Pastels but I am not willing to wait until Oct for them so just thought I would put deposit down on a het pied but I may use it in a project when it's old enough.

its not about if there already feeding or not, its they may get stressed if you give them a huge cage, so smaller may be better

Just so you know, mine was in a 9L rub and refused to feed. She is now in a 4L rub and is feeding.

Oh right far as I know It's feeding fine I watched him feed the royals but he wants them to have another feed before he lets them go , not a problem I shall compact the RUB out with lots of fake foliage and branches and jungle vine and loo rolls.

Mine was feeding fine with the breeder too lol

pics would be better. royals like it really cramped, so maybe a big piece of cork bark or toilet roll tubes will help them settle in, and lots of cover for them. i keep mine at 32* in warm end and room temp in cold end

I have a RUB set up it's a 13L RUB with holes in it and using Aspen substrate with two hides one at warm and one at cold end with a water bowl and some fake foliage along with a small branch that has been treated and its digital thermometer prob.

I'm a little puzzled on temps for my baby royal and people have been telling me its 31C in warm side and cool end should be around 27C is this correct ? I will be using a heatmat connected to a Microclimate dimmer stat 600w.

Hi, Hiper, think we've met a while back but welcome again and congrats on the new royal - lovely little critter!

Ooh Kelf, love the alternative title - in that case, for the first time in my life I'm a cool person lol!
