Posted - 19/08/2011 : 12:48:59 My name is Lorraine and I'm a newbie python keeper. I've had him (Oscar) about 4 weeks now (21st July) and he seems to be doing well. He has eaten 3 times for me. I'm here to learn everything I can to keep him happy and healthy.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
I have one question to start though. I weighed Oscar on 8th August and he was 162gms and today he was 167gms. Is that enough gain? |

Get quite a lot of feeds down him then look at getting him on rats Much more better for them ;) |

D3, he's not on rats yet. The first two feeds were fuzzies but the last one was a hopper. |

Posted - 19/08/2011 : 17:10:36 Hi and welcome to the forum and Oscar too (cool name!)
It's hard to say about weights; they seem to go in fits and starts but if he's eating like that, that's got to be good. He's going to go from strength to strength. It's definitely a good idea with royals to keep a record of weight, if only for your own satisfaction - I got my first, Shahi, 13 months ago and oh boy the difference ...you have all that to look forward to - they are so lovely when they're growing up ...and at any age, truth to tell lol!
You have to love royals!! |
