Hello all. Thought I would introduce myself as I am brand new to this forum. Me and my girlfriend got our very first royal pyhton last week and it is our first exotic . She is roughly 5 months old and is a little cracker. Looked at several in my local, and not so local area before deciding on her. She doesnt even have a name yet we have had her such a short time! We chose her as she has been gobbling down her last few feeds and was by far the most relaxed and curious when handled. I have done as much research as I could before buying her and havent stopped reading since. I know the basics but I am keen to learn from more experienced keepers so thought the forum was a good idea. You will all have to keep me right as I have never used a forum of any description before! She is settling in well I think. She is in shed at the mo but despite this and being in new surroundings she was very active for the majority of the first 24hrs. Exploring every inch of her new home and taking everything in her stride. She has settled down over the last 48hrs in particular and has tucked herself away in the the moss hide I have provided for her to help shed. As tempting as it is to get her out and keep a close eye on her we have resisted and are trying to let her settle in.I am making a note of her every move in a diary that is beside her faunarium. Any settling in tips etc would be gratefully recieved. Right, first post/essay over! I shall try and work out how to upload pics and stick some on.

*waves*

welcome to the forum... and snake keeping in general :D you're in for a whale of a time.

I'm sitting here typing in lower case for the first time in 20 mins because my royal insisted on sitting on caps lock!

Hi and welcome to the forum and congrats on the new girl. Sounds like you've definitely done a load of research and you've come to the right place - there is so much info on this forum and it's helped me loads since I got my first royal in July '10.

I look forward to the pics.
