Hi all, I'm a newbie here too. I'm from Leeds, in West Yorkshire and just picked up my first royal yesterday from an exotics rescue. They think he is around 2 years old, he is in lovely condition and has been feeding well so I hope he carries on doing the same now I have him home

I have already been reading this forum LOTS so I thought I'd best join and say hi

Lol its OK, I like a good joke (or even a bad one )

I will take some pics and get them up on here, I read the caresheets and stickies several times, all invaluable sources of information, and read lots of other things too before I got him I always think its best to have as much knowledge as possible before getting the actual snake (same goes for any animal really!) and then there's always much more to learn as I go along.

I won't be shy in asking for any info or help if I need it, and I might even tell the odd bad joke myself too :)

The rescue I got him from had him handed in on the day of the royal wedding with a female Royal of the same size/ages so they were called William and Kate, so he had been there a fair few months. If anyone is interested 'Kate' is still looking for a home. They had lots of other exotics there too for rehoming, lizards, snakes, spiders, scorpions, some birds too. They had lots that weren't for rehome too, they were also rescue and they use them to do education talks to schools etc, they had tortoises, racoons, skunks, and I even got to cuddle a meerkat brilliant charity and all run from their home and purpose built buildings attached to it.

Bob's just being sarcastic 'cause I nicked his joke - we're all learning on here, all the time.

Oh dear BATS that's a bad one, lol and my snail, Michelle says 'oi, stop using my name and kind in jokes'.

I'm from Leeds originally but I was wise and I escaped 8 years ago. Congratulations on the new snake and well done taking on a rescue, the caresheet and stickies on here are a massive source of really useful information and so is BATS so if you need any info just ask. Oh and its law you have to post lots of pictures and videos too if you can.

Yeah, Dewsbury's about 8 miles from me, I like Dewsbury - sometimes go walking on Thornhill Edge.

Lol, I suppose you've heard the joke about the guy who went to the fancy dress party with a woman sitting on his back. When they asked him what he was, he said, a snail.

A snail???

He pointed to the lass and said, this is Michelle!

(Erm, sorry ...my jokes are always dreadful ...)

Ooh my sister lives in Dewsbury, over Wakey way that isn't it :) The username kind of evolved, it was my username in an online game I used to play with my mates, and is sort of descriptive of me! My actual name is Shel (short for Michelle, anyone sings Michelle my Belle at this point and I swear I will hunt you down lol!)

I LOVE Animal from the muppets too <3 he is deffo my fave character xx

Hi, welcome to the forum!

We're nearly neighbours - I live in Wakefield (for my sins lol.)

Congrats on the new royal and love your username - is it anything to do with one of my favourite characters?
