Hi folks, Im Dave and my Wife Ads are both new to forums but not reptiles, my Wife has kept many snakes in the past plus an Iguana whereas Ive been working at a Zoo for nearly 20 years and have worked with a wide variety of reptiles but we have just bought our 1st Royal Python, (we also have a 3 year old Ornate Nile Monitor) We had a few questions regarding general care but they have all been answered by reading through this forum, there are a lot of very knowledgeable reptile keepers here.
Back to our little fella, hes a he, a 2011 hatchling, a norm and hes called Tabou (its a small town in his natural range in Africa) we've had him 2 weeks and 2 days now, we followed all the reccomendations on this forum for temperature, hides, enclosure size etc and so far everything is perfect, hes strike fed twice and seems a very relaxed adventurous Python. We will get some photos uploaded soon.
We both look forward to getting to know you all.
Dave.

D'oh sorry had a Homer moment there, we have Cuban Crocs at our Zoo, Preston Reptiles has Spectacled Caiman, I would hope no shop anywhere has Cubans for sale.

He came from a small shop in Paignton called Preston Reptiles, no bigger than most peoples lounges but has very dedicated owners and Wayne, the assistant is a reptilian encyclopedia, there were far cheaper Royals out there (we paid £100) but it was worth the extra knowing he was in perfect health and came from a shop that really cares for its stock.
