Hi went to shop to get jumbo mice today as gone off rats was advised to try follow on feeding which they explained was offer small mouse first and as the tail is going down place rat head in snakes mouth, they said he would not know the mouse has stoped and just keep eating the rat.have anyone heard of that or tried it.

Yep, i need to do it all the time. As a novice owner a few years back i kept my 1st Royal on mice for about a year and now mice is all she`ll eat, serious pain in the back side when she`s 1700g.
Its as easy as explained to you though, however i would say you need to start holding the rats head against the mouse`s backside (using tongs) when its about half way down, be gentle but in control as your Royal may start moving its head around to start the swallowing, basically push the rats nose up the mouse`s backside and 9 out of 10 times you`ll get a result.
