Posted - 22/11/2012 : 19:52:23 Had Loki out tonight whilst I done his water, he looked very dark so it looks like he might shed. I know he is due one soon. Plus he's hiding out in the cool end alot and not very active.
Humidity is 50ish in the cool end and 25ish in the hot end. Do I need to raise this further????
Cheers guys |

Posted - 26/11/2012 : 19:45:53 Got home as thought very messy shed. From middle to tail done, upper half to go.
Cleaned rub of skin, damn it was everywhere, and raised humidity further. |

Posted - 26/11/2012 : 12:15:55 I've also had the flannel in and upped humidity but looks like it didnt help him too much.
I had shed every where longest pieces about an inch :(
Gonna give him a once over when I get home to make sure its all gone.
Hopefully his next one will be easier |

Posted - 24/11/2012 : 19:16:20 forgot to say none of my royals will rat while in shed. my jungle carpet python is the only snake of mine that will eat in shed but still worth trying |

Posted - 24/11/2012 : 08:34:31 Alot of the time I miss them turning blue as I don't really handle mine on a daily basis only to water change and such but I normally notice the colours changing - when I'm lucky I'll catch them just losing their blue eyes and that's my queue to raise humidity, I do it by spraying the hot end with a water bottle until the substrate is wet but there is no water running when the RUB is tilted on it's side - works for me :) |

Posted - 22/11/2012 : 21:01:29 He is in a rub at the moment but I guess same rules apply
I will start to raise his humidity asap |

Posted - 22/11/2012 : 20:40:47 once mine were blue i would put a damp flannel on the hide as blackskull says and spray the walls twice a day |

Posted - 22/11/2012 : 20:37:49 yeah you will need to raise humidity when in shed, i raise the humidity when mine are in shed by putting a wet flannel on top of the hot hide under the heat bulb |
