Ok, i have a question,

i have pm'd BE but he is probably working..

two of my heat mats that are in the corns vivs are not on the light is off on the stats...

is it normal for them to switch off like this? one is a temp stat the other is a mat stat...

thanks..another reason to use dimmers i guess...

Thanks Ali, i think i am just worried cos i dont want this little girl to end up where P was at the beginning of the year,

but the air is warmer and it seems to be holding now at 28.6 to 29.5, not ideal though..

i use on/offs for most of the corns as they're pretty hardy................ the boas have pulses though to maintain a steady temp

personal preference and the size of your purse, lol, i'm sure an on/off won't harm her, in the wild they'd have fluctuations in temps to deal with

Thank you Ali

thats fine if it is 2* + but not so good when it is a minus...

will this be ok for a royal?

she fed for me this morning so i want her to keep going in the right direction none of the normal royal stuff..lol..
Gingerpony Posted - 03/07/2009 : 14:41:45
no it's an on/off, they vary, usually up to about 2*C either side

and just when you think you've got it right a cool snake comes along and sits next to your probe and throws everything waaaay off! lol

Ok, this is doing my head in now...

i cant get the temps to stabilise in Kaylas rub off the mini stat...

the highest i have got it is 28.7 which is not really warm enough is it?, thats with the stat switched to 35...
its averaging out at 28.5 warm end

having watched it for an hour, nothing has changed...

probe is inside rub and i dont have a gazillion holes in the rub either..

it is frustrating me, is it possible i have a dodgy stat?
