I was looking at the stock avaliable for frozen food in a local shop at the weekend and they had a wide selection, so I was wondering is it okay to mix up the food every now and then?
Feeding rats mainly and every now and then feeding gerbils and chicks?
Or will this just cause eating problems?
Many Thanks Paul |

Posted - 19/01/2010 : 21:29:18 yeah multis and gerbils can be MUCH more expensive, i think my LRS changed me £4 a gerbil last year!
if you've got an established feeder and don't mind taking the risk of them not wanting to eat rats after a tasty treat then there's no reason why not really |

Posted - 19/01/2010 : 13:29:24 Royals can be very fussy feeders. It can be really hard to convert them to rats, which IMO is the only food item that is required. Chicks are like chocolate to royals, very tasty but with little nutritional value. Gerbils are like the royals natural food item in the wild (multimammets) but are not very large and so multiple food items may have to be offered and they can be quite expensive to buy. |
