I think a ceramic heater is the whole thing, generally any heater that uses electric passing through wires between ceramic plates. The heat emitter is specifically the bit that gets hot.

So in snakes the ceramic heater is the lamp holder, ceramic bulb, guard.

The heat emitter is just the bulb.

Hi, I think what you mean is what is usually called a ceramic bulb, but often a ceramic heat emitter.

Basically this is a heat emitter that is fitted in the viv like a bulb, but gives out no light - many people prefer them if the vivs are to be in their bedrooms.

There's also a gismo called a AHS or advanced heating system - this is like a miniature radiator in the viv, and, like a ceramic bulb, infra red bulb or mat, also needs to be statted and guarded.

Hope this helps.
