well folks, i've been keeping mine for bout 8mths now and just thought i'd share a little anecdote...

i've had a male that has been off his food for almost 6 months despite being only 300gms when he went on his little 'diet' and after numerous attempts at persuading him to eat (braining/defrost/warmed, etc etc) i got a book back off me nephews written back in 1995 that had a little hint about a 'paper/cloth bag' method - ie. put snake and food in bag overnight, leave alone & snake should feed...

in my desperation for ideas to get him feeding i'd completely forgotten this one so thought 'hey ho, worth a try' & blow me it worked!?! opened up the next day with no fuzzy and a v pleased looking snake :) I tried it again this week but he's gone into shed so no luck, but will try next time and hopefully i'll have the same good luck!! its worth noting that although he didn't lose any weight at all during this time it didn't lessen my sleepness nites, lol

just hope this helps put other keepers minds at rest who like me are new or not used to the binge/starve habits of royals that providing they're not losing weight they'll eat when they're ready and all will be fine :) (hope me luck holds next time i try this!)

Theres lots of little tricks, some will work for some Royals and others won`t, the trick though is to find out what works for you
Congratulations are in order though, well done.

definitely - just wish i'd had the bbok back sooner, haha! It was 'Ball Python Manual' (Herpetocultural Library)
by Philippe De Vosjoli - the old ones are the best eh? ;)
