I've just got back this morning from a weekend away and immediately set about checking over the snakes. All are fine!

Anyway I could see straight away a MASSIVE poo in the front of duke's viv with three urate balls, so I cleaned that up, then lifted his hide and a very very blue Duke looked in my general direction. Looking thoroughly fed up, I covered him over again and now the waiting game. I'm not even going to attempt a feed until after he sheds. Very exciting! And I get my Boa tomorrow, can't cope with all the snake related fun.

Thanks, Bob.

I will cross mine too, I'm sure its nothing serious.

Thanks, yeah, I have a good vet fixed up and she's fine in herself; if the worst comes to the worst she'll be an easy snake to treat, she's such a placid big lump, bless her. Just keeping my fingers crossed it all sheds out.

As soon as he sheds he will be on those scales.

I saw about the scale rot scare, I bet you its not that, and its an old wound or something, though I'm not sure which is worse. Whatever it is you'll no doubt have it cared for and fixed up in no time.

LOL - I've got awaybrain all the time!

Yes, Surahi, and it's her first shed with me though I've had her 4 months (she's 5 though.) Don't know if you saw my thread over on health but she's got a funny crusty scar on her belly which may be an old burn scar that's become more obtrusive with the onset of shed but could also be (worst case scenario) scale rot, though she's been kept warm and dry and away from heat mats both here and in her old home (where I don't think she was for long; they got her as an adult; seems like she's had a few homes) so the vet and I are waiting to see what it looks like after shedding.

Bet you can't wait to weigh Duke after his mammoth dump ... tell you what, though, I know Saada's smaller, but I've weighed her before and after a dump in the space of a week - and her weights were the same ... weird or what?

Whatever his weight he'll still keep the record, if I know him lol

BATS is one of yours in blue at the moment too, I've got been away brain at the moment and just about remember you saying something about it.

Hi, Bob, Hi Rick - yeah they don't usually fancy feeding in blue, though Saada did (had the rat defrosting before I realised, so thought I'd try her, and she did.)

Ha, so next thing a post about Lilith's shed ... and the other stuff too ...OMG - sharing a rare name with a snake ...this is going to be soooooooo embarrassing!
Lotabob Posted - 28/03/2011 : 19:59:07
Similar but only in the way they do it when they are ready. anywhere from straight after their eyes and skin clear to 2 weeks +.

Cool, will try Lilith and see but she'll probably refuse now :( is it similar time from blue to shed in Royals and Corns? As Silva took a few days after and has only shed once in the 3 months I have had him.
Lotabob Posted - 28/03/2011 : 19:31:19
I just don't think he will eat, he is shy at the best of times but he is blind as a bat(not you BATS) at the moment. Just going to leave him well alone until he is all shiny and new.

Still not had the joys of a Royal sized poo but she's in blue but im going to try a mouse tonight, any reason why your not trying a feed lotabob?

Congrats on the boa.
