Posted - 13/03/2013 : 14:43:13 It really does, thank you. I've been posting questions in a few different but relevent topics so have put it all under one post.
I'm just waiting to get some moss - nowhere near me has any but I'm venturing into hull this week so ill pick some up then. As a temp measure I've been spraying a flannel and putting that under heat lamp but overdid it and humidity rocketed. Oscar was not happy - a quick wipe of the walls and leaving a 3mm gap at either door ( under my watchful eye) helped reduce within 5 mins. |

Posted - 13/03/2013 : 14:29:00 I would turn his adjust his stat down to the 32-33c mark, 36c is a little to hot for them.
The rubbing is him trying to loosen and get the shed started so I wouldnt worry about that to much. I see you are raising his humidity by moving his water dish under the heat source, also you can you the moss hide trick, or damp flannel trick also.
With the dots (possible mites) I would wait till he has shed and then have a good look and possible treatment, no point stressing him out too much whilst in a shed cycle.
Hope any of my ramblings help lol |

Posted - 13/03/2013 : 14:10:13 He is due to shed - eyes just cleared from being blue. I was told on fri he was due a shed soon and he's sat in his water bowl fully submerged since fri night. He seems irritated, rubbing his head and nose and hissed at me earlier when I opened viv to spray water in and let heat out (it was 36c). He's settled back down. He's got black dots under his mouth and I can't see if its markings or mites. |

Posted - 13/03/2013 : 13:59:57 Is he in shed at the moment by any chance? Some times they like a good dip whilst in the shed cycle. Unless hes hot which he could be having a dip to cool down.
If it is mites, from what hear Callingtons has alot of good feedback. Just remember to follow all instructions (remove water etc, and let the viv vent)
I have thought we (snakes) had mites before but it turned out they we just being a pain lol.
Any questions, just ask. They are a very helpful bunch on here |
