Posted - 11/04/2013 : 23:11:16 Fantastic news, well done. Royals always give you that lovely feeling of relief when they feed. All the others you expect to eat, but royals, its always a will they or won't they event. |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 21:47:51 Great news i took evolution morph's advice and offered a feed tonight the smallest mouse i had was a 9 gram mouse and she took it she missed the first strike and got it with the second im chuffed to bits she fed after her traveling all night then getting herself stuck on the thermometer so hopefully this is the start of her growing up big and strong :) |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 20:16:24 Id go with mouse fuzzies or maybe rat pups if you can get some smallish ones |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 20:10:04 If that was me I'd have offered tonight if she didnt take it I'd offer again in 7 days time Some will take first time offering other wont
I'd be feeding every 4 days to get that baggy ness off her And in better condition
For food I don't know names very well as I go by weight and as on here 10//15% her body weight So 6/9 gram mouse or rat Do you know what she's feeding on ? It wouldn't hurt to heat up the head with hot water or all with a hair dryer I've had many a good luck heating up food with royals I still do it for all my own royals And gradually do it so I'm not heating up for hatchlings I'm going to sell
I'm sure she will be fine If she's not feed for you within 3/4 weeks I'd be trying other ways of feeding to get some weight on her
One last thing is not to worry I'm sure they know what there doing :) |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 19:58:52 No i dont think she was packed bad she came in a polystyrene box packed out with news paperand 2 heat pads and she was in a little plastic box inside so i think she was packed ok she seems to have settled in ok now she is moving around her small viv from hot hide to cool hide and she has had a drink i saw her taking a drink earlyer now my only concern is her size and hope she eats when offered so i have a couple of questions as she is the first baby snake i have had any dealing with so what size mice should she be eating and when should i offer her ? |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 19:19:10 If Evolution Morphs says she's small etc etc i'd go by that maybe see how she does with feeding.
Was she packed/shipped bad to or something? |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 15:32:50 I got her from 888 reptiles she seems ok healthy enough i just went to check on her and she had knocked the thermometer of her viv side and had stuck herself to the sticky pad :( but after submerging it in water for a minute or 2 it came off no problem and didnt damage her scales thankfully :) but i feel realy sorry for the little girl it would have stressed her out like mad after her traveling all night now i just hope she feeds ok so im still kindoff worried about her being so small :( |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 15:18:54 Lovely looking girl. Nice bright colours. The photos do make her look a bit on the thin side. Once she's settled in id second the five day feeding. |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 14:51:59 That is a lovely royal I love her head blushing :)
About her being thin you are right I hatch out babies last year and my biggest was 56 grams at hatching As long as she feed really well there's no need to worry If she don't feed I'd be a little worried with her condition I'd never have sold a royal that small
Where did you get him from if you don't mind me asking |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 14:39:27 Congrats looks fine,November wasn't that long ago and depending on which day in nov she hatched. Then add on time after the hatch before she got her first meal.
So it's not like 6 months for 62g etc etc etc.Photo's can be abit deceiving toJust wait a week to let her settled in then feed. |

Posted - 11/04/2013 : 13:25:39 Aww, bless her, she's so cute. She does seem small but that's not surprising if she's only been fed once a week! I feed all my young snakes every 5 days. If she were mine I'd leave her to settle before worrying about feeding her. The stress of moving could cause her to regurge. Once she's settled I'd put her on small meals every 5 days to help her put on a bit of meat! She's very pretty and is going to be a real beauty as she grows up. |
