Posted - 05/09/2012 : 22:49:40 So I think I know Rodney pretty well now, so I know once he had eaten that's probabley it for maybe a month or two, an if I pop in his room to see him he is normally in his cold hide and I can tell if he is hungry by his behaviour . Anyway last week he amazed me by eating. Around the same time I brought in one of my ferrets indoors to keep an eye on only at night. The next couple of nights I went in to check on everyone, turned the lamp on and he came flying out and struck at the glass. I sat watching him for a while and he was behaving as if I was warming up his dinner, the room did smell quite ferrety so I'm thinking this is giving him an unusual appetite, so tonight 6 days after feeding I offered him a meal and he had come out and stuck it before I had a chance to even see where he was. This is so unlike him but I'm intrigued to see if I keep the ferret cage in the same room for another week I will get the same feeding response. Then remove it and see if he goes back to a non eating royal. It will be interesting to see. |

it might be an idea to use the ferret to increase his appetite, but if you constantly leave the ferret in the same room, the snake might get accustomed to it and go back to non feeding |

...Not that I think I'd risk trying to eat a Ferret either, mind you : / |

When we added the african pygmy hedgehog into the room I expected a feeding increase but it didn't seem to change at all! :( |
