I personally would like to see a like button below peoples posts, it may help when advice is given, if some1 sees that its liked by many they can see its good advice, would save multiple posts on one thread all with the same information.

Would this be possible, does any1 agree/disagree

Just an idea

This was actually brought up on another forum I'm part of recently. It was dismissed 'cause it was seen that it could easily turn into a popularity contest. People 'liking' others posts 'cause they liked them, not what they were saying. And I can see the point there.

I think with things like this you have to be careful.

Saying that, this other forum is much bigger with loads more members than here, so I suppose that might have something to do with it as well. I think this forum benefits from being smaller with fewer members 'cause we can all get to know eachother easier and it's not quite as... what's a good word? Formal?
So maybe it wouldn't turn out that way. But I can see how it could is all.

I am still in favour of the email alert option though ; )

It does seem a bit drastic to change the whole site to allow a like button, hmmmm
I guess its all down to what we would loose as well ,

As said it has been talked about so it can't be a bad idea

We had a discussion about this last year and it was announced that it woupd be too difficult to change much on this layout :-(
