Posted - 29/09/2012 : 18:34:23 Ok, so it looks like we've decided to put the viv in the living room so we can see what the little critter is up to in the evenings.
The viv is as far from the TV as possible but given that snakes are sensitive to vibrations, would having a TV on or music playing upset them? |

Posted - 08/10/2012 : 06:01:52 The only time I have noticed noise being a problem for the snakes is when the kitchen was being renovated and the workmen sounded like they were coming through the floor but other than that... |

Posted - 30/09/2012 : 09:23:05 My corn used to like death metal, or really heavy bass tracks. She used to become really active and try to get closer to the source (and once wrapped herself around the sub).
Her fave tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJJrIQsCTcQ

Posted - 30/09/2012 : 09:20:55 Same here. Tig never seemed bothered and actually liked to come out to watch TV with me : )
I did sometimes play music loud enough to hear in the next room (although I'm not one to blast music), and that didn't seem to bother him either. Sometimes I'd catch him coming out to see what it was, flicking his tounge, but he wasn't ever upset by it and often asked to come out while he was awake.
Never stopped him eating either ; ) |

Posted - 30/09/2012 : 00:12:21 Nothing to report here, my TV and stereo are in the room the only thing I can say is some higher pitched stuff makes the frog call in response. |

Posted - 29/09/2012 : 19:50:56 We have some of our snakes in our living room. We have the telly and 2 kids about making lots of noise, not to mention our downstairs neighbour who often plays her (crappy) music so loud the floor shakes. They never seem bothered by it all!
Our snakes kept in the bedroom behave the same way as those in the living room. |

Posted - 29/09/2012 : 18:54:06 We have three in the living room and they haven't shown any signs of grumpiness, and our tele is usually only off during a power cut. |

Posted - 29/09/2012 : 18:40:39 Honestly something I'm not sure about. I've had viv's near sound systems before and I've had viv's away from them, never really noticed a difference in snake behavior. Long as it's not on the same surface to absorb vibration should be okay :) |
