I want to ask which worth more?

100% pure snake (father and mother from one kind e.g. Burmese, Retic, Royal)

or crossbred snake (e.g father Burmses and mother Retic)

i know, for example, pure dogs worth much more than crossbred dogs. But I have no idea about snakes in this matter.

P.S: this thread is related to my post in "Other Python" section under name "Help me define this".

I have two burms one male albino around 2 years old around 8ft at the moment he is in a 7x3x3 however I have since found out that height is really not that important with burms , so a 7x3x2ft high would of been fine. My other is still small so in a 3ft viv at the moment, she hatched in June and is just over 3ft already and 500gms. I will say temperament wise they are like having a large royal, they are amazing snakes.

I think 6 by 3 is about size you would need for a burm or maybe bigger if you have space I wouldn't go any smaller than that tho

burmese care is similar to royals just much bigger size so need a big strong vivarium and you would need to find large rabbits or similar for food.
the albinos dont get as big as normal burms but their still huge my friend has a 5 year old female whos 15ft an 11stone an he has a male thats 6 years old an round 12ft but hes a rescue and slightly stunted due to not being properly fed by the previous owners

Tawf' if you get a free moment give me a poke on facebook message :)

As for the other thread I did see it yeah, I'd have to double check but it looked like a Burm to me. I think you'd be fine if you keep handling it :)

in the uk you can get albino burms for £80-£150 depending on quality/colour but i would imagine they would sell for more than that in syria due to them not being as common or easy to get hold of

Chrisc, it is really very rare to find burmese albino... i had to search 2 years to get a royal....
Is it hard to keep a burm .. if i decide to buy it?

Kelf what do u think about my other post... and do u think i can handle keeping the python if it was a burm ??
jbarlow91 Posted - 10/11/2012 : 11:47:29

yes some carpondros look awesome but some look a little bland to me.

only prices for bateaters i can find is from 2009 and they were $2500 from bob clark

I think carpondros (think that's how its spelt lol) look cool green tree python crossed with jungle carpet python. My local rep shop has a pair for £1500

Hybrids will always be more expensive as they're generally harder to breed

Burmese with Retic

Think it depends on how rare the snake is, be it pure or hybrid
