We've had this alot in the past but it's always fun to bring up and chat about :)

If money / space / time isn't an issue what would be your number 1 pet?

For reptiles I really want to get myself a monocled cobra (And will! ... one day!) they're the most beautiful snake in my opinion and they require alot of respect and discipline it's something I desperately want to put myself to the test with.

I'd also love to get a bird of prey, I'm currently doing some falconry training so hopefully that won't be too far away I'm hoping next year to get a hawk :)

My girlfriend really wants to get a caiman and a huskey but I don't think we'll be doing that anytime soon haha! Although we always said if we ever win the lottery we'll build a big outbuilding with a caiman enclosure in it next to a bar ^^ Would love to sit and enjoy a drink with a croc' swimming next to me.

i would love to own either a white throat monitor or an asian water monitor

if money was no problem i would have some huge walk in enclosures with big monitors and big pythons

.....and the end result of that food!!!!!

If I could I'd have a dragon always found them amazing even if they are fictional. My other options are a bit more down to earth, and have been mentioned already 1, Tiger and 2, bird of prey/raptor.

I must agree with Herriot, my dream is to own an animal sanctuary complete with animal rescue :) and I'm hoping to one day own a caiman.

Thanks for the link :-) my partner wants a cat after xmas so my compromise was it has to be a large breed I've been looking at Maine coons and Bengals which are more affordable but the savannah would be awesome just looked at another site and 4th generation ones are up for £3200 for breeding or £1500 for pets not sure how they work that though they must neuter them if its just a pet to stop you breeding
herriotfan Posted - 18/11/2012 : 18:00:32
If there were no hurdles at all I'd have a complete animal sanctuary! Some might say I have already but with enough room and funds I could take and help so many more!!!!

Though if you are genuinely interested

I'd be more worried of the holes it may put in the children of the neighbourhood.
carlb1981 Posted - 18/11/2012 : 15:47:58
That savannah cat is domesticated and can be trained like a dog just never see one for sale so couldn't say how much of a hole they would put in your pocket lol
Kelfezond Posted - 18/11/2012 : 14:43:07
I don't think I could keep a big mammal like a big cat, far too scary!!
carlb1981 Posted - 18/11/2012 : 13:54:35
As a kid my dream pet was always a black panther i love big cats but know they'd be out of the question so the next best thing is a savannah cat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuiKbnA3w0Q&feature=youtube_gdata_player
reptile wise it would have to be a midnight gin boa there just awesome
