Still, everyone hates a maths teacher more now right?

Afraid you're all wrong... Sort of...

Whilst most of you have got the length of journey right, youve not read the question... Accuracy needed was 1 decimal place, therefore the average speed is 85.9km/ph (1dp).

Everyone hates a maths teacher right??

Fairly simple to solve;

Between 23:21 and midnight is 39 minutes
Add this to 6hours and 51 minutes by first adding the minutes (39 + 51 = 1hr 30)
Then add the 6 hours gives you 7 hours and 30 minutes.
The final bit is easy as you are diving the distance by the time taken sooo;
644km divided by 7.5 which gives you = 85.86 as your average speed
Assuming my answer is right....if not ignore all the above :P

7 hrs 30 mins is the journey time

85.85km/h is the speed.
