Posted - 30/07/2009 : 17:09:02 Surely you would have to take the rubbstrate out to change the kitchen roll. Plus rubber deteriorates with constant heat so how long is it going to last. |

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 16:52:09 What I mean is with royals for example, change the kitchen roll on say a weekly basis & take out the rubbstrate monthly & wash it as BE says in the washing machine on a low temp without detergent. |

then your asking for a bacteria build up by putting kitchen roll underneath it surely? |

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 15:25:40 I think Id rather have the peace of mind knowing that my snake always has nice clean fresh substrate. I also think that loads of tiny wee bits of rubber would be quite time consuming and difficult to clean properly and would start to deteriorate after a good few cleans.
Now who wants to fight about it?

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 13:43:00 i might be wrong but i think a similar product got banned from kids adventure playgrounds a few years back but not on what grounds it got banned. |

so basically then any wee would sink to the bottom and not be seen until it is cleaned out or it started to smell? |

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 12:57:34 i saw that thread on the dark side but could not be bothered to read through all the crap...lol
as it is rubber, would i be right in thinking that it does not absorb any moisture?

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 12:50:36 Probably not. I can't see any problems with it really, apart from the look of it, I've always preferred Aspen, but it could save some money in the long run. |

Posted - 30/07/2009 : 11:38:13 Was it the fact that it was 13 pages long that made you think that there was a slanging match in there somewhere? We did discuss that substrate on the monitors and tegus thread. I think that general concensus was to wait and see what happens. |
