Cool! Glad it was nothing rude, mind you, that depends on the muscle in question.....

Erm, get ready to laugh at me.....

They are all Harry Potter themed names lol

Geeky bit: Nymphadora Tonks is married to Remus Lupin but she hates her name so everyone calls her Tonks!

My Royal if male, will be Sirius, not sure yet if female

LOL - never got my head round HP ...I see ...Nymphadora is lovely. The only Tonks I ever heard of was a guy in ...Edwardian times, I think, a teacher at the Slade Art School in London, some kind of fierce artist guy. Lupin - lavender seemed very appropriate, and Narcissa - rainbow is gorgeous. Cool names, whatever and love Sirius - that would do for a girl or boy?

Aww, looks cute in there.

My 9L rubs arrived today so I'm nearly ready for my Royal and brb

beautiful snake. I like your hide, will be looking out for one of those for Duke, Is it fairly heavy, the one I have now is quite light and he keeps lifting it up when he curls up.

9L rub for my baby royal

anatess Posted - 12/01/2011 : 04:12:14
Hah, I'm sadder still. I'm currently drawing the plans to cut holes into one of my walls! I have a wall that separates the general purpose room (gym, theater, playroom all in one) and a closet. So, I'm going to put the rack of royals in the closet against that wall, then punch rectangular holes into the wall so that you can see the plexiglass side of the RUB from the room. Then I'm going to put moulding around the rectangular holes to make it look like a picture frame...

Yeah, yeah... big plans. But, I'm going to get it done before this year is up! Hopefully. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I know I'm gonna sound like a right sad moo now but I can't wait to buy my rubs and set them up. I will go for the coloured ones then as they will match my living room lol

I enjoyed setting up the faunarium thats here now ready for my king snake but seeing as rubs are a bit different, I'm more excited about getting them sorted!

LOL - that's not sad - or if it is we're all sad!

I've just started on a project of giant makeover of bedroom and front room, with a lot of furniture to be discarded, in order to resite fish and corns' accommodation and build viv stack for ... wait for it, Shahi's and Surahi's offspring, if I don't sell them. Er ... the happy couple will not be betrothed for another 10 months and then only if they're the proper weight ... (But talking of weight, I have to give myself loads of time, being a 7 and half stone weakling lol ... all that furniture moving ...muscle-building or what?)

Lil's home gym!

lol

Luckily I have a large set back area in my living room that is just over 4ft wide and fits a large beech tv unit with shelves. I will stack some 4ft vivs on this for my corn(s) and king(s) but now I have discovered the 9L rubs fit onto the shelves of the tv cabinet and I can fit 2 on each so that's 4 rubs and will be like a rack! woohoo happy days.

Once the Royals need bigger rubs I have plenty of room for them too and then when I feel ready, I have spare rubs for a baby brb!

I like to plan ahead too

A coloured rub will be darker than a white - and you know what royals like! Yes, the darker the better!

Colors are fine. I got the white/see through one because it matches the wall they are on. I'm currently debating whether to paint the handles black. But, right now, I'm redoing the room and I plan to put the rack in such a way as you can't see the handles, so it shouldn't matter much. I wish I have a lot more time because I really want this project finished! It's gonna look really cool...

Plus, I put a piece of printer paper on top of the RUB for added security. Note, the water bowl is also a hide. So, there are 2 hides in there.

But for my adults, I use the 64L instead of the 33L (same floor space, 64L is taller) because by this time, they are more acclimated to the captive environment and is not as easily stressed. I put a little more height to their enclosure to give them more wiggle space and so I can decorate the RUB for my viewing pleasure.

LOL - I do like 'wiggle space' - that says it all!

Thanks for posting the pic. That's exactly what I wanted to see. I am going to go for rub setups for my royal.....or maybe royals! If I can sort out a few rubs and all the extras by my birthday I may be getting 2 now. So excited I can't wait.

This thread has also helped me as I am now thinking of using rubs for any royals I get.

So it looks like a 9L seems to be the ideal for a little royal. Again any pics of little royal setups would be great.

Edit: Are these the right ones, they don't look very deep?

Louise good you asked, I had to doubble check as the pic staples used for showing the 9L is actually a 4L in the pic BUT the description is for a 9L :)

9L looks like http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b09_0litre.php

Brilliant, thanks for sorting that out for me.
