Well I picked up my male and female Royals on Monday.
The female was just coiled up for 4 days without moving, but then yesterday she was moving around a little bit, and today I changed her water and she seemed totally relaxed with me taking the lid off her RUB etc...
Does anyone think she is settled enough to start handling?
She is due to be fed tomorrow, and I would really love to get her out for a bit before feeding otherwise it will be Tuesday, and it is aaaaaaaages lol.
She is so pretty I just want to get her out

if i was you, i would wait till he/she has eaten at least twice, this means that they ahve definatly settled in, and are feeding properly, you ahve all the time in the world after that to handle them, but i would advise like bats
your royals may be out and about in there cages, but that could just be them exploring getting to know the cage

Hi, there seem to be a few viewpoints on this. when I got my first corns I had no idea - I fed straight away and handled 48 hours later ... It was only when I started on the forums that I realised they should have been left for a week (Luckily they were fine.) When I thought of getting a royal someone on another forum pm'd me and told me I mustn't think of touching Shahi until he had had 4 or 5 consecutive feeds - which bothered the hell out of me when I had to help him shed straight after I got him ...

I think they're all different. Personally I like them to be in a good eating routine before a lot of handling. I've had Surahi 6 weeks now, and her eating's erratic, but that's due to the time of year of course. She's a very laid back huggy girl and makes it clear that she would love to come out for armchair walkies, so we do have a brief cuddle now and again - yeah I know what you mean, I would so love to sit down and let her roam round for a good while and sit on my knee! I may be going against the grain of 'good practice' here, but perhaps you could compromise and just have 5 or ten minutes with your girl? I can't see that that could hurt, especially as she's an adult and knows you already.

Sorry if this is a bit inconclusive! Have you got a name for her yet by the way? All the best.
