Posted - 18/02/2012 : 20:13:20 So glad that loki and i are both growing in confidence every time i get him out. My heart no longer feels like it is going to jump out of my chest every time i handle him and he wants to have a wander as soon as i get him out rather than sitting still pretending he doesnt exist for half an hour first. i take this to be a good sign but could mean he is trying to escape me of course lol.
How far do you let your snakes wander? do you just let them go or do you keep them controlled? i am not confident enough to just allow him to go where ever he wants yet so i tend to keep bringing him back to my lap as soon as he goes too far off it. i feel this may be frustrating for him though. |

Posted - 18/02/2012 : 22:17:27 I let my year old wander on the bed or couch but no further, my albino still sits balled up on ne and does not do anything so I put him back to relax |

Posted - 18/02/2012 : 21:05:59 Yeah like Blackskull I have cats - also the house is so full of nooks and crannies for an adventurous snake to hide itself, that I have to provide me (and the armchair) as a sort of jungle gym.
My dream is a huge snake room with all nooks and crannies sealed off, where snakey can wander ...ohhh and french windows and a small safe garden or patio outside where snakey can gallop about to its heart's content ...sigh!
In the meantime, to stay safe, snakey has to be content with Lil's hands, arms, inside of sweater, armchair ....and sadly that is it ... |

Posted - 18/02/2012 : 20:19:23 nice to hear that you are growing in confidence. most of the time i keep them under control as we have 5 cats running around but if i know they are not in the room when i get one out i let them wonder on the bed or couch |
