I have just attempted to get my Royal out to feed her and discovered this on her nose? This was 100% not there yesterday or the day before when I changed her water? She has been in her hide for the last week or so and I havent seen her moving about which is very unlike her so I thought she may be going into shed as she did go 'blue' however that is clearly not the case.

Im really worried as to what It could be and am also going away for the weekend so will not be around to check on her. However other members of my family will be.
Does anybody have any clue as to what this is? |

Posted - 07/02/2013 : 22:13:48 Have you checked the hide that she has been curled up inside? First thing I thought of was she's been laying with her nose on urates. Have you tried washing it off? See what's going on underneath. Be careful though as it looks like its blocked over a heat pit, try using luke warm water on a cotton bud and very gently washing the nose. If its urates it will have crystallised and will need to be rehydrated before it will budge.
Other thoughts are some sort of fungal or mould growth, but go with the simple first and rule out its just muck. |
