Posted - 22/02/2013 : 21:02:41 Hi,
My 7 month royal had pooed about every week for around the first 4-5 weeks or so since ive had him, since then he hasnt done anything for about 5 weeks now. Is this normal or anything to worry about? he is eating weekly with no problems, never missed a feed. temp is 32 hot end.
How often would you expect a 7 month to usually go?
Thanks |

Posted - 22/02/2013 : 22:16:55 seems that way! and with the other post you answered for me a few days ago about the flaky skin, he still hasnt shed. I think i just look for the worst everytime with him being my first snake |

Posted - 22/02/2013 : 21:43:36 Doesn't sound like anything to worry about, they are well known for holding it for months. Just keep an eye on the vent area, if it appears to be bulging or the body looks bloated then you can worry about impact ion but for now it all sounds standard issue Royal Python behaviour. |

Posted - 22/02/2013 : 21:35:38 well the first few were very small then the last one he did was about 3 times the size of the first ones. nothing has changed food wise, i have however moved him from his rub into a viv about the time he stopped going. he still eats weekly since the move though |

Posted - 22/02/2013 : 21:31:50 I wouldn't worry about it too much, my adult Royal goes maybe three times a year.
I would wonder about the going weekly though. <poo question alert> what sort of consistency was the poo? Have you changed rat size or prey type? |
