Rite people ive got a problom! my CB11 pastel female now hasnt eaten for over a month.
I no it can be normal but she hasnt missed a feed since day one.
Ive just lost a snake to a burn & RI problom and hoping the RI hasnt spreed.

She looks at her food for a wile then decides she doesnt want it.
I wouldnt norm be bothered but she is losing weight. This time last month she weighed in at 1226g but now a she is only 1164g which is 62g loss.

She isnt very active ether.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Great news about her feeding

Such a shame about your snake that passed. I don't think you should be too hard on yourself about what happened. I wouldn't have thought there would have been a way that you could have anticipated what happened to cause the burn.

Just a combination of unfortunate circumstances. A sad and painful life lesson

Try not to beat yourself up. Hindsight is a great thing, but the important thing its to move forward with the knowledge of what happened. Glad to hear your girl has taken a feed.

Just to update she has just taken a large weaner :D happy happy

But her temp is 30.5 in the hot end and 26 at the cool end.

I put a large hide in there for her today then just tried her and Bang she took it like a a good girl.
And my other Girl who pasted away was because of a error on my part! i put a large hide in with her and her weight combined with the weight of the hide made her RUB sake and she got burnt :( the burn wasnt to bad on the outside but it got her lungs which in the end killed her. Even with the help of a very good vet she couldnt be saved. I had the PM back yesterday which was very sad to see i had caused her death.
All of my RUBs have now been adapted with spacers so there will always be a 5mm gap so the RUBs cannot sag and cause this type of problem again.

The PM did also reveal that she did have a minor RI problom which she seamed to have since i brought her but the burn Hugely affected it.

It was a very hard lesson to have learned and 1 of my poor snakes had to pay the ultimate price for my mis-judgement.

How's your setup (temps etc)? Sorry if you've already posted that info in another thread but I'm wondering what caused the RI in the snake that sadly passed
Sw1fty84 Posted - 05/05/2013 : 19:22:58
I do indeed have a log for them all.
I wouldnt norm be worried but as you have all said i am slightly on edge over my resent death!
I think ill take her for a check-up just to put my mind at rest.
More so as she is my Big girl :)

OK for starters you need to keep a chart if you dont already have one.
I have one for each of mine and on each one i have
feed date, what they ate, when they shed, wieght after they have had a dump.
I know your probably worried as you`ve recently lost one but as far as i can see you will be fine
Baobab Posted - 05/05/2013 : 11:40:17
I can understand why you would be worried about the RI having spread, but as others have said one month not eating for a Royal is nothing to worry about.
You could take her to your rep vet for a check up just to ease your worries over the RI.

She has been for a poo once which was 3 weeks ago and had a wee probs 3 times.
I no royals have feeding issues yes but im worried she mite be getting the RI problom as this was how it started with my lemon pastel.

Before you say you`ve got a problem and you`ve had wieght loss, has she been to the toilet since she was 1226g? A month not feeding is absolutely nothing to worry about with Royals ( i`ve got a female that hasn`t eaten since October 7th)

That seems quite a weight loss in a month?

Does she look ok?
