I have just discover that an eye cap on Charlie did not come off during his last shed, even though I was convinsed it had when I checked the skin shed.
It has been 55 day since he last shead, would you recommend I would try and remove it or leave it till he sheds again ? His average time between sheds is 55 -60 days, At the momment he is not showing signs of the sheading procces.
He is 1 year old, no problems feeding (6 giant mice since last shead)Poohing regually. And putting on weight.

why try a gentle, more natural approach when the sledge-hammer approach can be bought from a shop?  |

PS. I either offer a moss hide or spray, I wouldn't have thought you'd need both next time. |

Great news, I carried out your instructions with two moss bowels and sprayed the tank often once signs of sheding were positive.
Charlie shed completely in one piece which also removed both eye caps. 72 days since last shed, average before 55. Anyway all is good and he ate a giant mouse two days after sheding.
Thanks for your great advice, will use moss bowels again near shedding time.

if a shed is imminent i'd just hang on but provide a damp hide for him to help him shed more easily.......in fact i'd take out his 2 normal hides and put in 2 damp hides so he has no option but to use them! |
