Hi guys
Sid has begun his first shed. It appears that his eye caps and head skin has come away great. He looks like crinkley paper at the mo.
I have perpared a moss box, not seen him in it but who knows? Do I need to keep an eye on the moss and add water if it gets too dry?
Is there any additional advice you can give me to ensure it all goes well?

if it's a small patch, bearing in mind where it is it's not going to restrict blood-flow........
i'd be tempted to leave it till his next shed and as soon as he's in blue put the damp hide(s) in for him, tbh its likely to come away as the skin stretches taking his next feed |

Hi there guys. Shed seems to have gone fairly well but there is a small bit of skin on his underneath, just behind his chin that doesn't seem to want to budge!!! Tried bathinng and letting him run through a flannel. Also tried rubbing and get a hold of but he reallt doesn't like so not sure what to do?
Any and all advice gratefully received!!! |

Hi Tony, all the advice above is good I don't know how big he is but I always use a tupperware box with a moist flannel in as it always seesm to work, you say the eye caps and head is clear so that's good, the tip of the tail is a problem area just keep a moist area and wait it may take a week or so, don't panic ! |

How long since he shed? - Give it a couple of days, see my suggestion above. |

Hey guys. Well followed your advice and sure enough he has shed. Only thing is there a few bits where I can see small bits of old skin still. Should we bath him again and try to get these off. I understand it can vcause problems in the long run if they are left? |

i wouldnt handle him unless bathing,have you got something rough in the viv that he could rub himself against like a log? |

you could also move the water bowl to the warm end for a few days to increase the humidity. |

Yes, give him a couple of days, then if he still needs help, give him a 20 min bath in water as warm as the hot end of the viv and then let him run through a wet towel/flannel. |

i'd give him some time but if you notice that it's taking way too long, maybe get a damp towel and let him wriggle through it. That's what i had to do a few times with my king snake. |
