Has anyone ever encountered Royal bogies before?

About 2 weeks ago we noticed that one of Evra's nostrils was blocked. So we immediately checked for other signs of a R.I, but her mouth and other nostril are clear and there's no wheezing or laboured breathing etc. So we cleaned up her nostril and put her back.

Then yesterday I got her out for a check and the same nostril is blocked again. Still no signs of other symptoms and she seems fine, except for this blockage. It's not a mucusy type snot, it looks more like the body is trying the heal over the nostril, if you know what I mean. It is like a whiteish, hard crust that is forming over the hole, rather than a bogie that's hard to dislodge.

Has anyone got any suggestions or heard of this before?

The only thing we can think of is that she might be allergic to the substrate? Or it is a sneaky type of R.I

I've been reading this thread with interest on the Dark Side. Let us know how she gets on, it is weird!

We have moved her off auboise and her condition seems to be improving. We can see the nostril again!

okay some pics -

The healing nostril is on the snakes right hand side this show the healthy nostril and the lack of nostril on the right

Where the nostril should be it seems to be healing over (like a scale) very very strange. Sorry the pics are massive usual editing software has packed in

I've done it! Do I get a medal for my bravery?

If not, you could at least bump me before I fall off the first page into nothingness

It does sound unusual.

She's on auboise, but I'm thinking of taking her off it for a while just to see if that is what is irritating her.

It's just weird how it's only one nostril that is blocked and there's no other symptoms.

No, not heard of it, but would, like you, guess its the early stages of an RI possibly.
