How often should a Royal Shed ?

Syphon has shed twice since I got him in December Once in January and again at the beginning of March. His eyes are clouding again, should he be shedding this soon ?

He feeds well, a small rat every 8 days or so. Since he started on the rats he's growing quickly, seems healthy enough. Just seems quick into a shed after one last month.

Thanks for the replies.

Syphon seems healthy enough, no outward sign of any damage, and feeds well so I suppose it's just that he's growing fast. There certainly seems to be an increase in his growth rate since he moved onto small rats at the end of February.

there are so many variables which affect how often a snake will shed and to elaborate on the above post...
1.age: younger snakes should be growing more rapidly than adults and therefore shed more often

2.diet/feeding: snakes feeding regularly on suitably sized meals will shed more often than sporadic, reluctant or non-feeders or snakes fed on a bare minimum amount of food eg. a maintenance diet. a stressed snake will often be a poor feeder and shed less often.

3.illness/injury: and ill or injured snake often sheds more frequently as they try to heal

4.time of year: over winter when snakes brumate all their bodily functions slow down including shedding

5.husbandry: poor husbandry can cause points 2 and 3 above

They vary, basically it will be more often if they are good feeders and growing well. I`ve had one shed twice in 4 weeks.
