Hi there, need some advice is possible. I have been away 4 the weekend, before I went it looked like my royal (Keeva) was coming into shed. Just got back tonight & she has shed great however her heat light has blown & I have messed up & not got a spare bulb. It never even crossed my mind 2 get a spare but I will be buying atleast 2 when I go the reptile centre tomorrow morning. Her heat light is the only means of heating her viv & it looks like it went some time today as a friend was round yeasterday 2 mist her & it was working then. Has anyone got any advice on how to keep her warm? I have popped her in her rub & put her in the airing cupboard 4 now but she can't stay there all night obviously. I'm just really worried about her getting cold & poorly. I'm really angry with myself for not getting a spare but there is nothing I can do about it now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I would have said the same so hopefully you are sorted so long as the bulb is guarded obviously, I always keep a couple of spare bulbs just in case and I'm sure you will in future :) I had a heat mat go down on one of my hatchlings a few months ago kept her warm on a covered hot water bottle until I replaced it and yes I keep a spare one of those too :) An interesting point though because I have a fan heater with a thermostat in the same room in case the temperature really drops but in winter if there is a power cut for any length of time I would be very worried !! I may have to invest in a small portable gas heater just in case.

How about using a normal 100W bulb just for tonight?
