Hard to say really, some males grow quicker than others. My male Pastel was 3 when i got him and was 600g, he only eats every 3 weeks but has put on 300g in the last year, i took him to the vets when i got him an was told that he was in extremely good health.
Its not really a race to get them to a certain size so just try and feed him once a week.
