Posted - 18/03/2009 : 19:31:39 Poor Evra, we think she's got an R.I
She's all weeazy and he nostril looks mucusy. It's come on quick too, because when I checked on her yesterday there were no signs.
Vets tomorrow by the looks of things. |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 15:55:21 I do it all the time. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night worrying about Evra, then work up before my alarm this morning worrying about the axies. I would have a stress free life if I didn't have so many pets |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 12:11:28 So glad she is ok, your as bad as me waking up thinking of your snake..lol.. |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 09:31:45 That's what I woke up thinking last night. I think the nostrils were blocked with shed and that might explain the excess mucus in the mouth.
Still seems fine and has shed alright now. Must have been one of those things. |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 09:12:37 Glad snakey is ok, it was probably the shed, if she could not breath through her nostrils then it probably build up a bit, some snakes do get a bit mucusy when in shed... |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 15:01:04 Unless she's been watching Cliff, Richard and the Mighty Alberto too much and thought she'd try eating her shed like they do |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 15:00:07 Not sure really, it was the gunge in the mouth that worries me. I can understand the skin irritating, but to make that amount of muckus so that she struggled to open her mouth and breathed with a squeek is harder to explain. |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 13:38:54 As Anne says, I wonder if it was to do with the shed, perhaps some loose skin irritating her. |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 13:16:42 It is a bit of a relief, but I'm still going to watch her very closely over the next few days. It was so unusual. |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 12:53:28 Thats great news Kaz. So glad she is ok, must be a relief for you to
It must be to do with her shedding. |

Posted - 19/03/2009 : 11:39:51 She is ok! Checked her this morning and all signs have gone. No mucus, no skum, no nothing!
Going to keep a very close eye on her because it's definitely not right what I saw last night. She couldn't open her mouth for snotty stuff yesterday, now she looks clear. Weird! |

Posted - 18/03/2009 : 22:41:40 I agree Kaz, you dont want her to end up like peanut did....
Keep us posted as to how things go |

Posted - 18/03/2009 : 22:02:25 We thought that at first, but there's definite mucus in her mouth and nostrils. Looks more serious than just a bad shed.
We'll keep an eye on her anyway. I would rather take her to the vets and it not be a R.I, than not take her and leave it to get more serious. |

Posted - 18/03/2009 : 21:33:53 Kaz, it might be the shed making her like that. How far is she into her shed? I read somewhere that sometimes they do get a bit wheezy in shed, so fingers crossed for you it is this and nothing else. |
