heterometrus swammerdami(asian/indian forest) that molted last week
heterometrus petersii(asian forest) munching a roach
venom on his telson from stinging the roach
some of the heterometrus spinifer scorpling's
mid molt
mum of the babies
my pandinus imperator(emperor) commune, one molted a bit wonky a few week's back an the other 2 are due to molt soon
one of my pandinus cavimanus(red claw)
and my Protoiurus kraepelini(no common name) that should hopefully molt before long

Posted - 06/07/2013 : 09:05:14 they are very cool thing's to keep, if you want to handle them then an emperor would be best as most are quite docile whereas the asian forest's are pretty defensive.

yea the forest variety emperor's are quite a bit bigger than the savvanah/grass land emperor's, problem is it's going to be almost impossible to find an female for him due to the import ban so plan to get a female emperor to breed with him which should hopefully produce some big offspring. a pinch would be fairly painful i think, once emp's get to a certain size they stop using the stinger(teslon) so if they cant overpower the prey with the claw's(pedipalp's) they don't eat. ive got a paper somewhere about a study into them not using the singer after they get to a certain size will try an find a link an post it up |

some of them i handle mainly the emperor's apart from one adult male who is really antisocial this is my huge forest variety emperor who is very docile can just scoop him up an hold him
