Haven't weighed her yet but I wouldn't like to have to hold her at arms length for very long lol.
Baobab Posted - 21/04/2014 : 16:12:41
That shows her girth very well. How heavy is she.
jonnyc1988 Posted - 21/04/2014 : 14:08:07
Yeah hopefully if my attempts at breeding a successful I could maybes get another a few years down the line. I'd probably save up and get a genetic powerhouse!
Here's a pic for size

she's 7ft but I always find it surprising how small retics look when curled up. Then you stretch them out and it's like... wow your longer than you look!!!
Baobab Posted - 19/04/2014 : 10:42:53
She's definitely a lovely looking girl. I'd have more retics if it wasn't for their eventual size.
jonnyc1988 Posted - 18/04/2014 : 22:50:13
She's not aggressive but currently a bit nervous/flighty, when you first try and pick her up she hits warp speed in the other direction and she's crazy fast and strong so you just have to put your arms into double speed to stop her escaping your grip. She settles once I've got a hold of her then usually just rests her head on top of mine lol.

shes gorgeous, what's her temperament like?
the nose rub doesnt look too bad from the pic just keep it clean an should heal up in a couple of shed's
jonnyc1988 Posted - 18/04/2014 : 11:31:24

Nose rub can be seen here.

Settling in to her new home
jonnyc1988 Posted - 18/04/2014 : 11:22:58
Yes it was going to Belgium, I managed to stop it lol. Picked her up yesterday, she is stunning. Has a bit of scale damage on her nose from rubbing it but I understand this is quite common. Hopefully it will heal up.

phlegmatical Posted - 16/04/2014 : 09:27:03
Beautiful snake! But I do agree with Chris...
chrisc Posted - 16/04/2014 : 05:25:40
sorry but that advice from prehistoric pet's is underfeeding and giving a maintinance diet to keep them small which i dont agree with

yes some will also over feed just to make huge snake's quickly but starving to keep them small is just unfair
jonnyc1988 Posted - 16/04/2014 : 00:31:35
Mainlands are always going to be big snakes, but you can certainly influence their size with their diet. Watch these videos. Prehistoric pets have done this loads of times.

she is stunning congrat's although i dissagree with them not getting huge unless powerfed.
mainland's, sumatrans ect will get very big on a the correct sized meal every week/14 day's or whatever schedule your feeding them on and feeding smaller meal's so they stay small is just wrong

i really want a big mainland/sumartran retic but waiting till im in secure housing before i take the plunge as dont fancy having to move house with a 15ft+ snake and it's viv

Kelfezond Posted - 15/04/2014 : 22:08:19
Beautiful!

Thank you, what about a dwarf or super dwarf Fezza? also their size depends a lot on how you feed retics, You wont get a giant unless you power feed it big meals every few days.
I love that the platty tiger has 2 codom's so even if I put it with my het toffee I will get lots of cool snakes. Think I will try and get a male platty tiger in the future though because you get allsorts of cool stuff, plattys, tigers, platty tigers, ivory's, ivory tigers, super tigers, super tiger platinums, super tiger ivory. Awesome!!!!
