Ever since i installed a thermostat my royal wont go in his warm side hide. I have the thermostat which has a built in thermometer and the temp displayed on an lcd screen and also a separate thermometer just to make sure. Both say the same temp which is between 29-31 so i really dont think its too hot?

You provide the temp gradient. They decide where they want to be. As long as you are doing your bit then you're doing it right.

Ive brought it down and hes still up the other end. I moved him to the warm side and within a few hours he moved to the cool again

How many days has she stayed in the cool end as some of them will stay days in one end then days in the other end. While others will jump back and forth quite frequently.
They are all little individuals and some prefer slightly cooler and some slightly warmer. Try tweeking the temp down a degree and monitor her activity.
