I'm really, really new, not just to this forum but forums in general so please be patient cos I'm not that good with tech stuff.

Wanted firstly to say hello and a big thank you to everyone on this forum, you've made me smile and helped me with all my research before I bought my new Royal, Sammy. I've been lurking on here reading your posts for a few weeks now and because everyone seems so friendly and helpful, have found the courage to join in. This forum looks fun!

Bit of background on me, never thought I'd be interested in snakes, let alone own one - until a friend of my husband brought his garter snake round for my daughter to photograph and handle for an art project. Afraid to say, one hold and that was that. Was later introduced to Royals by a couple of pet suppliers and it was love at first sight! Hence Sammy, who is a normal and about 13 months old. Have had him now for nearly three weeks and he has fed twice, the second was a strike so quick from inside his hide that I almost missed it! Everything seems to be okay at the moment although I've not really seen him since putting him in his home - the most exercise he takes is sticking his head outside the hide.

Looking forward to being able to handle, only one more feed to go!

Anyway, enough of me for now!

Thanks again everyone for the welcome!

Please expect to see my name on the forum a lot as I will probably panic and need to ask lots of questions!

I'm just finding excuses to get more.

The last was my royal because the shop got him out while we were in there.

I've now ended up with a spare small viv so just need to decide what to get next. Decisions decisions. :S

Thanks for the friendly welcomes!

Rustyp1974 is, unfortunately, quite right - I'm already planning the next one! Hopefully getting a corn snake soon and who knows where this will end lol.

Hi and welcome

Don't worry about not seeing your royal out n about much, they aren't the most active of snakes. Generally a lazy royal is a happy royal

Glad you joined us. It's a great place where you can ask whatever you want without getting abuse for it. I hope you enjoy many years with Sammy.
