Hi Jakethesnake! Welcome to the Royal Python forum!
They're the same as corns really (accept they don't eat ) - Leave him/her to settle in for a week - Royals are fussy snakes, just keep trying but give him time to settle! |

when you find out what works make sure you write everything down so you can do the same again............ size of mouse, colour of mouse, time of feed, loation of feed, etc......... Queenie will only eat white mice early in the morning. |

Welcome Jake.
I gave Sherman 4-5 days to settle then warmed a mouse but had to lay it outside the hide cos wouldn't take it from the tongs.
The advice I got given was:
Allow Stuart Little to defrost during the day. In the evening, when it's a bit quieter, put the defrosted mouse in 'tap-hot' hot water and make yourself a mug of tea / coffee. Go drink your beverage and by the time you've finished it the mouse should be at just the right temperature. Hold SL by its tail and bounce it back and forth (nose down) past your snake's nose. If it doesn't strike at it within a few minutes then just lay the mouse down, close your viv and leave the room. It may take it if your not there. Stuart Little was normally swallowed within half an hour when I fed Sherm the first few times.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I agree with most of that except that I wouldn't run it under or put it in water as this can wash some of the scent off. I would either use a hairdryer to heat it or put it in a waterproof (sandwich?) bag and then into the water. |

Totally agree with the hairdryer idea. Unfortunately as you can see from the photos of me and Sherm I don't have an awful lot of use for one. I won't post what my wife said( )when I asked to use hers!! I learnt some new words that day. |

I think that as Lewy suggested you give them a week to settle in, no handling, only opening the viv (what are you keeping them in?)to change the water. |
