how well can snakes hear or do they reley more on sense of smell to know whats going on, I know they can feel vibrations when something is near to them??????????

I'm not sure, but when i was feeding Montiiee last night he was more than happily swallowing mr mouse. All of a sudden a few local loud mouths walked past our place shooting there mouths off, Montiiee rather hastily disappeared into his hide.
Still ate it, but definately disturbed by loud noise.

i have lost count how many times i have had a conversation about snakes hearing..

some say they cant hear and others say they have an inner ear..

i think they can hear sound up to a certain distance..but that is juts my own observations of my snakes...

not as good as our actual hearing as they possess and inner but not an outer ear structure, but loads more sensitive to vibrations than we are
