hi me and my partner are new to the forum 2nite we have just brought our sixth royal 2day our only female so far called ember she is approx 2 yrs old and gorgeous but seems quite under weight for her age , she is weighing 534grams where as our male is 2yrs old and weighs nearly 900grams . please could somebody tell me if it is safe to put the male and female together or is she too small at the mo?? I have been told that if she was to get pregnant and this weight it could kill her is this true?.we also have 4 male royals that are approx 8mths old and are very well loved by ourselves and our 4 children all our royals are handled daily and have great temprements , any extra info we could be offered would be appreciated .thanks ann and lee |

Hi, welcome to the forum
The female is way to small to go in with the male, and yes, if she got pregnant it coulg kill her. |

thankyou thats what i thought , ill be sure to keep them seperated untill she is atleast 1500grams. The shop i got her from said she had been with them for a year and used to be fed with live food!! which obviously they wouldnt do so she refused feeds for three months then was force fed and is now striking well they have been feeding her on large mice which i think is too small , parky our mail is fed on rat weeners so im hopeing to get her on to them. our 4 boys are fed on x large mice and are doing really well. |

I hear people breeding females from 1200g, but you're right that 1500g is probably for the best.
Are you collection all normals, or any morphs?
Pics?

hi and welcome to the forum.
i have just got a 2 year old female that hasnt fed for 12 weeks-ish and she is 1089g so i think yours is a liitle under weight.
i would move her on to rolands(rats) as they contain more fat to build her up.
