 where is best to stick probe??

bought a pulse stat today to go with ceramic bulb, the probe that goes with it at moment is about 3 inches from bulb, where is the ideal place to put it?

best place for any stat probe is directly on the substrate, either above or below your heat source, this way it reads the temp that your snake will feel.

I agree with Scott, all mine are on the substrate at the hottest point in the viv.

I have my probes attached to the rear of the viv wall under the heat source...as long as you are measuring the temp using a good quality thermometer (digital is wot i use) to set the temps and not the dial on the stat it should be ok...

Same for me,mines attached to the wall at substrate level but have my thermometer probe directly underneath the lamp where the snake is.
