Large well known pet shop in the north west were I get my rats from has started selling baby Burmese pythons for £60! Who in their right mind would want one of them?didn't think for one minute that would even be legal! |

Plenty of our members have burmese pythons, they're one of the tamest snakes to get and make brilliant pets. :) |

Burmese Pythons and the even bigger Reticulated Python and the even bigger Anaconda are not classed as DWA in the UK and can be freely traded and kept by anyone. They can make very good pets but their size and strength does need to be understood before buying a cute little baby snake as it will be longer than you are tall in a year or so. Plenty of baffoons do buy them and then find they cant cope with it but the vast majority of them are owned and looked after by people very capable of doing so. I would love a Reticulated Python, they are super intelligent but just too huge for me to ever be able to accommodate one without dedicating a room to my snakes. Maybe one day when I own a mansion I wont mind devoting the North wing to a Retic. |

I suppose with watching programs like python hunters etc I just presumed they would be difficult to get hold of because I presumed no one would want them! Gotta admit they are beautiful though and would take a lot of care. |

This The prices being so low attracts even more baffoons. |

I've seen them for £100 and they were albino to I would love one but I'm very tuned into the fact that when adult they need BIG vivs and big feeds plus I don't have anyone I can call on if I need a hand. Some people just brush aside this is why so many end up in rescue centre's |

Burns are awesome and I want one but they are too big. When I asked the reptile room fir a price of a dwarf burn they said it would be 800 quid a big increase from the normal sized burms |
