| Sas finally ate after 3 months fast. He had a small (maybe 3") mouse on Monday then had another one on Tuesday. He shot out of his house as I was feeding Boris on Tuesday So I offered and he struck. Great I thought. Got up this morning at 5am for work and discovered the bum and tail of 2nd mouse and a trail of greyish liquid in his viv. Cleaned him out and went to work. Just got in and there is a puddle of what looks like dribble in there. Did he have too much too soon? Would he have been better with a rat rather than maybe 6" of thin mouse? |

| Probably to too soon for more food its best to leave a few days inbetween so they can fully digest the first meal. If he will take a rat then I'd offer rats so you don't have to offer multiple mice but I'd wait a week or two now to let him recover from the regurgatation |

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that too much. Yes, you did probably feed him too much too soon.
I assume it's the same as with any Animal. If you haven't eaten in a while and then eat lots one day and lots the next then your just gunna puke. Your body needs to get into the rhithom of things again.
The general rule is alow four days between meals (at least) for Snakes. That way their first meal has a chance to digest a bit.
At the rate that Snakes digest their food he probably didn't realize he was full.
But I agree that Rats would be a better option for him. Bigger and much more nutritious. But feed him his mice for a few feeds first, the first job is always to get them feeding again. |

Everyone eventually has to deal with a regurge. Aside from the mind bending worm hole opening stench that a regurge brings to your living room (seriously for those that haven't smelled this yet, you are in for a treat) they aren't that bad, just one is nothing to worry about and for you its one step easier than normal as you absolutely know what caused it and how to avoid it.
Now all you have to do is allow at least 10 days until the next feed, this lets the stomach settle itself down and be ready for the next instalment of Sas is eating again. I'd also avoid handling at this time too, just to aid the stomachs settling and keep Sas nice and calm so the chances of eating again are greatly improved. |
