I have a 5 month old royal. And someone asked me other day can I feed it a live mouse. Instead of dead.
What's the answer to this. Is it possible to do so or do I have to feed dead ones until he's older. |

Its best to always feed frozen(thawed)rodents. If your snake accepts pre killed there is no reason to feed live. In fact I believe its illegal to do so, unless not doing live feeds endangers the life of your snake. |

I think the only time it is advisable to feed live is if the snake is starving to death and all other methods have been tried for a while and failed |

live feeding is a grey area of the law but can be done if the snake is not eating an losing weight quickly.

Plus there is always the danger of the rat killing the snake or seriously harming it if it gets the chance so aint worth the risk |
