Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum, so just sayin another hello, and would like to take the opportunity to introduce my 4 month old Royal Python, Lecter :), got him on sat there, so he is still settling in for his 1st week, no handling, just water changes. let me know what you all think, cheers!!

This is the longest week ever! i wanna handdle him for a while, but cant :( you have to let them settle in for a week right.....well thats what i did for my corn anyways!! |

Truthfully some of us here didn't. If I remember rightly from a previous thread. I no I only waited a day or so to handle him and my royal has been spot on ever since. |

lol, boabab, the TV series Hannibal is to blame for my naming him after Lecter, tis a very good series so far, highly reccommend it......there is just something dangerously enchanting about Mads Mikkelsen portrayal of Hannibal that is spine chilling!! ohhhh so i can *cough* handle Lecter and no ill effects will occur ;P, very intersting :) |

I always waited the week before handling any of my snakes but I just didn't want to risk stressing them out....wimp maybe?!  Handle if you can't or don't want to wait for the week setting in, but you really MUST wait 48 hours post feed or you could cause your snake to regurge and that is not healthy for the snake.
