Hi. I was just wondering where to position the thermostat and thermometer for the heat mat? As some say they need to be on the heat mat an some say they need to be above it on top of the substrate. Thanks |

The thermometer should be ontop of the substrate at the hottest point the snake can reach so you can make sure you know what the highest temperature your viv or rub is getting to - the thermostat probe I personally attach to the heat source itself to give a more accurate reading. |

i put both probes under the substrate directly on the heat mat as that's where it's hottest |

That's what I've done. With my corn but when I got my royal the guy at the pet shop told us on top of the substrate. (As I mentioned I noticed the corns thermostat rarely comes on) I'm now under the impression it's faulty an goin to take it back. As I've set both exactly the same 1 comes on more than the other |
