ok, thanks, il close the curtains 1hr before and leave tv and everything off, and il defrost and warm up, just to make sure it is defrosted really. it did try and take a defrost fuzzie before, but was backwards so i took it off it as i was told that it shouldnt eat it backwards. i since found out from the vet that thats for their own safty when eating live. so it did try, hopefully it will take another one.
thanks again |

Chances are it will smell the food coming and forget about escape - hopefully.
How are you planning on warming it up? - If with a hair-drier, do it in the direction of the viv so that the smell gets to it. |

i normally do it with a hair dryer, right in front of the viv, but the rub is on top so il do it in that direction and hopefully like you say, itll smell it coming. i got my fingers crossed. how long does a fuzzie generally take to fully defrost. would leaving it out for an hour be enough do you think. and should i go out and get a defrost ret pup or just use the fuzzie? i also have pinkies but i think they are abit small.
thanks |

haha, are you always on here be,lol, that was a nice quick reply. thinking about it, should i put it on the heatmat right next to the rub so it gets really warm and all the smell will go up under the towel covering the rub. or just leave it on the side?
thanks again |

Just leave it on the side, 8 hours on a heat mat might start cooking it! |

I know you're trying to get it feeding so starting off small (which is ok), buy a Fuzzy isn't a big enough meal for a Royal really as a rule. |

I agree with BE... Try Medium mice or large rat pups when you next need to buy some.
Fingers crossed for you on the feed... |

my snake isnt really to much bigger in girth than the fuzzie, im sure once it starts eating it will be. my friends female royal ate a really large mouse the other day, i was really shocked it got it down real quick aswell |

dont worry about it now just concentrate on this feed, and try not to fret about it |

not freating, just want my royal to be happy. altough i cant wait for years of living with a happy royal, its not nice to have a little covered box, all i can do is say, thats my royal in there, but you cant see it,lol, the reaction i get is as if im strange keeping an animal that i cant even look at.
but im not freating, if it feeds it feeds. if it dont, it dont!!
so should i get another one out just in case then?
thanks |

As WS says...lets just get it feeding first on one...
I get called wierd all the time... i think its them thats wierd for not having a open mind about keeping different animals/reps...
Its only like having hamsters, mice, gerbils etc that sleep all day...

im sure my questions go through everyones heads, im just asking so i can get some opinions. i could always unregister, put it back in its viv and let it get on with it. but i dont want to, so im not freating, just asking questions to confirm my thoughts on things i should do. but you cant tell how i am with text. im not treating. just asking... |
