Hi all, Anyone else's royals rather active at the moment because of this heat we are having? I'm assuming its the heat at the moment as Obran my 07 is out a lot recently and doesnt seem bothered about balling up or lounging about in his cool end for a few hours. His RUB temps (using stat on a matt) are fine, nothing going over 90F at the moment BUT the room temp is a good 80F at the moment (windows open, fans on as its playing bloody havoc on my beardies basking temps, lol) He is due for a food size upsize so it may be because he is hungrier than usual .... i think maybe a bit of both! Anyone else?
..... Oh and he has never been shy and seems to thrive on coming out and al the interaction ... oh and food of course, lol |

Well i think so but then im biased I know people keep 'pet' snakes and also have a 'collection' of snakes which they trade/ sell/ swap etc but no matter how many snakes i get in my collection i will never let Obran go |

my royals have been more active, both been out and about every night now for the last few nights which is rare, especially for Ra. But my corns have been less active. |

Maybe heat with the corns...well with all of them... someone on the dark side lost a snake in the heat due to a failed heat mat...or stat..cant remember which one it was.. |

| Yeah, my little boy is exactly the same. He's been out and about every night and morning since its been warm. Post few feeds only seem to keep him quiet for a day or two. He's still on rat pups and wolfs them down in about 30 seconds and couple of days later seems to be wanting more. Tempted to try him on something s bit bigger but he only weighs about 95g. They just don't seem to fill him up like they did a month or so ago. He's eating every 5 days without fail. |

you could easily up him now to fluffs which are bigger than pups, but not to big.,..it is where they are just getting there fur...
they weigh around 11g so should be ok for him..

that's what i was thinking too, it's almost like they've been searching for somewhere cooler, even though the temps in the viv/rub haven't been too bad -highest cool end has got since i moved the vi away from the wall (lol i was blocking the vents and wondering why the cool end was hotter than the warm end. palm/face) is 28*c and warm end has been an almost constant 31*c no higher than 32*c at least. |

I think I need to, because I have just fed him again and he got very excited. Seemed to be looking for more. I think it is definately hunger rather than heat making him more active, hiding now again I'll try and source some fluffs this week. |

Yep thought it was because he was too hot but temps are fine hot end. Room temp/ cool end is 79/80F which is good right? I guess he just likes being cooler at the moment bless him |

| All of mine have been much quieter in the hot weather apart from Lucien (Albino King) who is as active as ever. He loves being out of his viv and when in it seems to spend most of his time roaaming. |
