How old are they and why did you decide to take on non-feeders as your first Royals?

Can you give us some more info about them, how they're housed, how you're trying to feed them etc.

Welcome to the forum.

So........ sorry.......... I've only just woke up and brain isn't functioning yet. The old owner told you they fed last Friday but told the pet shop they hadn't fed for months. That right. Sorry again if i'm sounding a bit thick.

Someone with more experience with non-feeding royals than myself will be along soon to help but I wouldn't panic. Important thing now is not how long they haven't fed for but to get them feeding. A good idea might be to weigh them now and start tracking their weight.

A good help would be if you could post a thorough description of setup (hides, temps, substrate etc,) and what you are trying to feed them (mouse, rat, size, are they frozen) and pics would really help people to advise you. I'm not sure if they should be housed together either ??

Are they your first snake? or first royal? You may have some hard work ahead of you mate, but plenty of good folk on here to help

How much do they weigh?

Did they feed last Friday, or have they not eaten for 3 months?

Hiya

Agree with what BE says,

can you give some more specific info as to age and weight, etc etc
it may be that they are not feeding due to them coming off winter, but ideally they should be feeding now..

you may just need to find a trigger to get them feeding again, like a mouse...

It might be a good idea to seperate them if you can, it does not matter if they are not together as they dont normally cohabit in the wild..

Thanks everyone for your good advice, I have just tried feeding my Royals, one took it out my fingers faster than you can say my name !! The other wasn't interested so it looks like there must have been crossed wires between me and the old owner and the reptile shop owner, as they seem to be feeding now. I will weigh them and separate them and keep you all informed on my progress. These are my first snakes and I look forward to keeping them for years to come. Many thanks again, Mark.
P.S. I am from Rugby, Warwickshire.
